The SADC is a trade agreement that currently consists of 15 countries mainly located in Eastern Africa and Southern Africa.
All member states comprise a total area of 9.85 million km² and about 379.69 million people. This is 6.5 percent of the habitable area around the world and 4.8 percent of the world population. With an economic output of 753.15 billion US dollars annually, they represent around 0.78 percent of the global economy. The value of all exported goods from these 15 countries was 261.21 billion US dollars per year at last count.
