Asylum applications and refugees in Estonia

67 asylum applications by refugees were received in 2021 in Estonia - according to UNHCR. Most of them came from Afghanistan, Russia and from Turkey. A total of 71 decisions have been made on initial applications. Which were around 58% answered positively. 42 percent of asylum applications have been rejected in the first instance. Most successful have been the applications of refugees from Afghanistan and from Belarus.
