Asylum applications and refugees in Turkey
29,256 asylum applications by refugees were received in 2021 in Turkey — according to UNHCR. Most of them came from Afghanistan. A total of 25,135 decisions have been made on initial applications. Around 53% of them were answered positively. 47 percent of asylum applications have been rejected in the first instance.
