Asylum applications and refugees in Finland
1,282 asylum applications by refugees were received in 2021 in Finland — according to UNHCR. Most of them came from Afghanistan, Iraq and from Somalia. A total of 1,781 decisions have been made on initial applications. Around 69% of them were answered positively. 31 percent of asylum applications have been rejected in the first instance.
