Development of inflation rates in Chad
The inflation rate for consumer prices in Chad moved over the past 35 years between -13.1% and 41.7%. For 2019, an inflation rate of -1.0% was calculated.
During the observation period from 1984 to 2019, the average inflation rate was 3.7%
per year. Overall, the price increase was 208.66 %. An item that cost 100 Franc in 1984 was so charged 308.66 Franc in the beginning of 2020.
In only a few countries negative inflation rates are achieved. This means that the general price level is declining and consumer prices get cheaper. This case is called deflation.In comparison to other countries, the drastic price increases are no longer on average. Usually this is a sign of political and economic turmoil.Back to overview: Chad
