Telecommunication in the Kosovo

Compared to the United States, the Kosovo is massively lagging behind in the development of telecommunications. Under the country code +383, there were a total of 668,300 connections in 2020. Among them were 562,000 mobile phones, which corresponds to an average of 0.31 per person. In the US, , this figure is 1.1 mobile phones per person.

Development of telephone and internet connections

With an average download speed of 45.43 Mbit/second for fixed-network broadband internet, the Kosovo ranked 77th in an international comparison. The upload rate of only 9.3 Mbit/second was significantly lower (118th place).
In mobile internet, i.e. on tablets and smartphones, the Kosovo comes 77th with a download speed of 24.05 Mbit/second. The upload speed of around 10 Mbit was enough for 73rd place.
