Mobile communications and Internet in the Kosovo

Compared to the United States, the Kosovo is massively lagging behind in the development of telecommunications. Under the country code +383, there were a total of 668,300 connections in 2021. Among them were 562,000 mobile phones, which corresponds to an average of 0.31 per person. In the US, this figure is 1.1 mobile phones per person.

Internet speed for cell phones and fixed network

With an average download speed of 59.29 Mbit/second for fixed-network broadband internet, the Kosovo ranks 72nd in an international comparison. The upload rate of only 12.70 Mbit/second was significantly lower (117th place).
In mobile internet, i.e., on tablets and smartphones, the Kosovo comes 77th with a download speed of 28.81 Mbit/second. The upload speed of around 10 Mbit was only enough for 85th place.
