Telecommunication in Oman

Compared to the European Union, Oman has a slight downturn in the development of telecommunications. Under the country code +968, there were a total of 7.29 million connections in 2016. Among them were 6.87 million million mobile phones, which corresponds to an average of 1.6 per person. In the EU, this figure is 1.2 mobile phones per person.

In the expansion of broadband Internet connections, Oman is back. Around 70% of all residents have access to the Internet. Approximately 6% have their own fast Internet connection, which is at least faster than the previous ISDN (more than 2048 kbit/s).

With about 14,531.00 webhosts, Oman is below the world's average by population.
