Compared to the United States, Armenia has a slight downturn in the development of telecommunications. Under the country code +374, there were a total of 4.02 million connections in 2021. Among them were 3.60 million mobile phones, which corresponds to an average of 1.3 per person. In the US, this figure is 1.1 mobile phones per person.With about 194,142 webhosts, Armenia is below the world's average by population. At the end of 2020, 1,741 of these, or about 1 percent, were secured with SSL or comparable encryption.

Development of telephone and internet connections
With an average download speed of 38.67 Mbit/second for fixed-network broadband internet, Armenia ranks 103rd in an international comparison. The upload rate was only 35.33 Mbit/second (56th place).In mobile internet, i.e., on tablets and smartphones, Armenia comes 84th with a download speed of 24.06 Mbit/second. The upload speed of around 11 Mbit was enough for 73rd place.
