Sunrise and sunset in Venezuela

Sunrise today: 6:15 h
Sunset today: 18:19 h

Sunrise and sunset in Venezuela do not differ significantly throughout the year. The reason for this is the proximity to the equator. Thus, the sun swings north in the middle of the year and south at the turn of the year, without moving too far away. In countries like Canada or Norway, however, the difference is much more extreme.

With up to approximately 12:50 hours the longest days happen to be in June. In December a night in Caracas lasts almost 13 hours.

In these days the sun in Caracas rises at 6:15. The Sunset can currently be watched at about 18:19 Uhr in the early evening.

Where does the sun rise in Venezuela?

The sun always rises in the east, everywhere and regardless of the country or continent. The easternmost city in Venezuela is Santa Elena de Uairén in Region Guyana. There, the sun rises at 5:50 am and sets at 5:57 pm these days. The latest sunset is currently experienced in the west in the city of Machiques (Zuliana) at 6:42 pm.

Duration of the sunset

The distance from the equator and the path of the sun determines not only the time of sunrise and sunset. The farther a country is from the equator, the more oblique the sun's path is to the horizon. And this causes a different duration that a sunset takes. Caracas lies on the 10th degree of northern latitude and thus a good distance from the equator. While a sunset in the northern USA or central Europe can take almost an hour, in Venezuela it only lasts an average of 24 minutes. In June, it's about 25 minutes in Caracas, while in December it's 24 minutes.
