Development of telephone and internet connectionsWith an average download speed of 88.80 Mbit/second for fixed-network broadband internet, Qatar ranks 40th in an international comparison. The upload rate was only 54.10 Mbit/second (32nd place).
In mobile internet, i.e., on tablets and smartphones, Qatar comes 1st with a download speed of 169.51 Mbit/second. The upload speed of around 25 Mbit was only enough for 3rd place.
