Development of inflation rates in Cambodia
The inflation rate for consumer prices in Cambodia moved over the past 23 years between -0.8% and 25.0%. For 2018, an inflation rate of 2.5% was calculated.
During the observation period from 1995 to 2018, the average inflation rate was 4.9%
per year. Overall, the price increase was 193.89 %. An item that cost 100 Riel in 1995 was so charged 293.89 Riel in the beginning of 2019.
In only a few countries negative inflation rates are achieved. This means that the general price level is declining and consumer prices get cheaper. This case is called deflation.In comparison to other countries, the drastic price increases are no longer on average.
