Road traffic

The network of roads and highways has a total length of eight km. For each of the country's 11,204 inhabitants, this corresponds to 0.71 meters. This puts Tuvalu in 218th place in the global ranking. However, the country's population density must also be taken into account, which is relatively high at around 431 inhabitants per km². The higher the population density of a country, the shorter the average distance traveled. In Tuvalu, left-hand traffic is the rule on the roads, i.e. you drive in the left lane and overtake on the right. Oncoming traffic comes to meet you on the right side. Here you can also find an overview of all countries with left-hand traffic.
