Development of inflation rates in Kyrgyzstan

The inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan moved over the past years between 0.4% and 37.0%. For 2016, an inflation rate of 0.4% was calculated.

During the observation period from 1996 to 2016, the average inflation rate was 11.9% per year. Overall, the price increase was 776.46 %. An item that cost 100 Som in 1995 was 2016 so charged 876.46 Som.

In only a very few countries, the price increase is that high. The rate of 37.0% in 1999 means, that compared to the previous year all prices have been increased by an average of 37.0%. In comparison to other countries, the drastic price increases are no longer on average. Usually this is a sign of political and economic turmoil.
