The biggest decrease in 1993 with -6.54 percent.In the same period, the total population of all countries worldwide increased by 160.2 percent.
The average age in Rwanda rose by 1.65 years from 2012 to 2021 from 18.05 to 19.70 years (median value).
Around 18 percent of the inhabitants live in the country's larger cities. This growing trend of urbanization is increasing by 3.1 percent annually.

Birth and death rate in Rwanda
Population growth is the result of the birth rate, the mortality rate and the migration rate. For example, the year 2020 in the graph: The population in Rwanda increased by about 311,000 inhabitants. In the same year, the death rate was 6.0 per 1,000 people (~ 77,000 deaths) and the birth rate was 30.3 per 1,000 people (~ 389,000 births). As a result, around 1,000 inhabitants have migrated to other countries.Over the past 10 years, the number of average deaths per year was 74,906 in Rwanda. The number of births was 373,501 annually.
