Birth- and deathrate in Cyprus
Population growth is the result of the birth rate, the mortality rate and the migration rate. The example of the year 2020 in the graph: The population in Cyprus increased by about 8,790 inhabitants. In the same year, the death rate was 7.2 per 1000 people (~ 8,610 deaths) and the birth rate was 10.0 per 1000 people (~ 12,000 births). As a result, around 5,400 inhabitants have to be added by migration from other countries.Over the past 10 years, the number of average deaths per year was 8,058 in Cyprus. The number of births was 12,634 annually.
