The Terrorist group "Al-Shabaab" is one of the largest in the world. Since 2007 it is active in 5 countries. In the years 2012 to 2016 alone, a total of 1402 terrorist acts with 3424 killed people were registered. Among them were 99 suicide attacks.

Only those acts of terrorism were evaluated, in which the terrorist organisation Al-Shabaab claimed the main responsibility. There may well be further attacks on which Al-Shabaab has declared itself to be a subordinate group or in which a subordinate role has been identified by the authorities. These cases are not covered here.
