Zande is no official language in any country, but is spoken as a mother tongue in two countries by a minor part of the population.As a percentage of the total population, the largest share of around 6 percent is in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A total of about 7.1 million people worldwide speak Zande as their mother tongue.
