Slovenian speaking countries

Slovenian is the official language in Slovenia and is spoken in Italy as monther tongue by a part of the population. The Slovenian language (native name: Slovenski Jezik, Slovenščina) has its roots in the Indo-European language family.

As a percentage of the total population, the largest share of around 91 percent is in Slovenia. A total of about 2.0 million people worldwide speak Slovenian as their mother tongue.
