Mongolian is the official language in Mongolia and is spoken in China as monther tongue by a part of the population. The Mongolian language (native name: Монгол хэл) has its roots in the Mongolic language family.With 5.70 million native speakers, Mongolian has the highest prevalence in China. As a percentage of the total population, the largest share of around 79 percent is in Mongolia. A total of about 8.3 million people worldwide speak Mongolian as their mother tongue.
