Macedonian speaking countries

Macedonian is the official language in North Macedonia and is spoken in 2 more countries as monther tongue by a part of the population. The Macedonian language (native name: македонски јазик) has its roots in the Indo-European language family.

With a share of around 67%, it is most widespread in North Macedonia. A total of about 1.6 m people worldwide speak Macedonian as their mother tongue.
