Asylum applications and refugees in Switzerland
13,226 asylum applications by refugees were received in 2021 in Switzerland — according to UNHCR. Most of them came from Afghanistan, Turkey and from Eritrea. A total of 7,737 decisions have been made on initial applications. Around 69% of them were answered positively. 31 percent of asylum applications have been rejected in the first instance.
