Asylum applications and refugees in Spain
65,301 asylum applications by refugees were received in 2021 in Spain — according to UNHCR. Most of them came from Venezuela, Colombia and from Morocco. A total of 54,393 decisions have been made on initial applications. Around 9% of them were answered positively. 91 percent of asylum applications have been rejected in the first instance. The most successful have been the applications of refugees from Afghanistan and from Libya.In a second table below you can find the refugees who fled from Spain and made their asylum application to other countries.
