The "Corruption Perceptions Index" for the public sector showed 26 points in Ireland for 2017. The scale has a range from 0 to 100, in which corruption raises, the higher the number is. With this result Ireland ranks 19th. So, compared to other countries it is above average.Compared to the previous year, in 2017 the level of corruption decreased a bit. In the long term, it has nevertheless risen moderately in recent years.
The ranking is led by New Zealand with a value of 11. The sad last place is occupied by Somalia (91 points).

All data are evaluated annually by Transparency International. For 2017 a total of 180 countries of all continents have been surveyed. The original "Corruption Perceptions Index" gives numbers from 0 to 100, where 100 ist the worst index (contrariwise here). The official value for Ireland is given as 74 points in 2017. Therefore it would be a Anti-Corruption Index instead of a Corruption Index. For better clarity and an easier optical view of the graphs, these numbers were inverted here.
