Asylum applications and refugees in Greece
22,493 asylum applications by refugees were received in 2021 in Greece — according to UNHCR. Most of them came from Pakistan, Afghanistan and from Syria. A total of 24,043 decisions have been made on initial applications. Around 54% of them were answered positively. 46 percent of asylum applications have been rejected in the first instance. The most successful have been the applications of refugees from Eritrea and from stateless persons.In a second table below you can find the refugees who fled from Greece and made their asylum application to other countries.
