The highest daytime temperatures in Basse-Normandy are reached in July with an average of 22.8 °C. The coldest month, on the other hand, is January, with an average of just 8.5 °C. In Brittany, July is the warmest month, with 22.9 °C. There, it is coolest in January with an average of 9.7 °C.

Night time lows

Depending on the season and the location of a country, the wind brings a varying amount of water with it. As a rule, the water evaporating in the oceans is absorbed and then transported inland. With 1,862 hours of sunshine per year, Basse-Normandy is in the lead. The most hours of sunshine (7.5 per day) are in July. Brittany falls into second place with only 1,825 hours. There the sun is visible in January for only 2.2 hours per day, so not hidden behind clouds.

Hours of daylight

The length of a day varies throughout the year and depends on the distance from the equator. In December, the day in Basse-Normandy is only 8.4 hours long. In June, on the other hand, it is 16.2 hours. In Brittany, it is 8.5 hours in December and 16.0 in June.
