The highest daytime temperatures in Andalusia are reached in August with an average of 33.4 °C. The coldest month, on the other hand, is January, with an average of just 15.5 °C. In Catalonia, July is the warmest month, with 30.7 °C. There, it is coolest in January with an average of 13.1 °C.

With 3,030 hours of sunshine per year, Andalusia is in the lead. The most hours of sunshine (12.0 per day) are in July. Catalonia falls into second place with only 2,555 hours. There the sun is visible in December for only 4.5 hours per day, so not hidden behind clouds.

Hours of daylight

The length of a day varies throughout the year and depends on the distance from the equator. In December, the day in Andalusia is only 9.7 hours long. In June, on the other hand, it is 14.7 hours. In Catalonia, it is 9.3 hours in December and 15.2 in June.
