With about 1.02 million webhosts, Venezuela is below the world's average by population. At the end of 2020, 5,531 million of these, or about 1 percent, were secured with SSL or comparable encryption.

Development of telephone and internet connectionsWith an average download speed of 10.18 Mbit/second for fixed-network broadband internet, Venezuela ranked 147th in an international comparison. The upload rate was only 7.5 Mbit/second (134th place).
In mobile internet, i.e. on tablets and smartphones, Venezuela comes 138th with a download speed of 5.4 Mbit/second. The upload speed of around 3 Mbit was only enough for 139th place.
