At the end of 2020, 5,531 of these, or about 1 percent, were secured with SSL or comparable encryption.

With an average download speed of 23.32 Mbit/second for fixed-network broadband internet, Venezuela ranks 123rd in an international comparison. The upload rate was only 19.82 Mbit/second (93rd place).In mobile internet, i.e., on tablets and smartphones, Venezuela comes 135th with a download speed of 6.9 Mbit/second. The upload speed of around 4 Mbit was only enough for 136th place.
