Geography

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an archipelago in the southeast of the Caribbean Sea. The dwarf state has a total area of only 390 km² (151 mi²) and a total coastline of 84 km (52.2 mi). This land area is about 2.2 times the size of Washington, D.C. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is thus one of the smallest countries in the Americas by area and ranked 207th worldwide. More than half of all residents (53%) live within cities. Around one in six residents lives in Kingstown alone.

The highest mountain peak (Mount Soufrière) is at 1,234 meters. The archipelago consists of 32 islands. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has no direct neighbors. The distance between New York City and the Capital Kingstown is about 3,310 km (2,057 mi).
