Corruption in Puerto Rico

The "Corruption Perceptions Index" for the public sector showed 37 points in Puerto Rico for 2014. The scale has a range from 0 to 100, in which corruption raises, the higher the number is. With this result Puerto Rico ranks 34th. So, compared to other countries it is at an average.

Compared to the previous year, in 2014 the level of corruption decreased a bit. In the long term, it has also declined moderately in recent years.

The ranking is led by Denmark with a value of 8. The sad last place is occupied by Somalia (92 points).

All data are evaluated annually by Transparency International. For 2014 a total of 179 countries of all continents have been surveyed. The original "Corruption Perceptions Index" gives numbers from 0 to 100, where 100 ist the worst index (contrariwise here). The official value for Puerto Rico is given as 63 points in 2014. Therefore it would be a Anti-Corruption Index instead of a Corruption Index. For better clarity and an easier optical view of the graphs, these numbers were inverted here.
