, Chile has a slight downturn in the development of telecommunications. Under the country code +56, there were a total of 26.68 million connections in 2016. Among them were 23.30 million million mobile phones, which corresponds to an average of 1.3 per person. In the EU, this figure is 1.2 mobile phones per person.
In the expansion of broadband Internet connections, Chile is back. Around 66% of all residents have access to the Internet. Approximately 16% have their own fast Internet connection, which is at least faster than the previous ISDN (more than 2048 kbit/s).
