At the end of 2020, 219 of these, or about 19 percent, were secured with SSL or comparable encryption.

With an average download speed of 27.89 Mbit/second for fixed-network broadband internet, Togo ranks 113rd in an international comparison. The upload rate of only 5.1 Mbit/second was significantly lower (158th place).In mobile internet, i.e., on tablets and smartphones, Togo comes 58th with a download speed of 36.97 Mbit/second. The upload speed of around 9 Mbit was only enough for 98th place.
