Development of inflation rates in Ghana
The inflation rate in Germany moved over the past years between 8.7% and 59.5%. For 2016, an inflation rate of 17.5% was calculated.
During the observation period from 1991 to 2016, the average inflation rate was 20.6%
per year. Overall, the price increase was 9,641.87 %. An item that cost 100 Cedi in 1990 was 2016 so charged 9,741.87 Cedi.
In only a very few countries, the price increase is that high. The rate of 59.5% in 1995 means, that compared to the previous year all prices have been increased by an average of 59.5%. In comparison to other countries, the drastic price increases are no longer on average. Usually this is a sign of political and economic turmoil.Back to overview: Ghana
