High humidity in Ghana and high temperatures are causing a pleasant weather at times, but also and partly tropical hot and humid. It is warm to hot all year round and invites to bathe at average water temperatures of 27 degrees. Dued to the lesser rain the best time for traveling is from November to March. Most precipitation decrease from May to October.

Temperature records of the last 69 yearsThe hottest temperature measured from 1952 to January 2021 was reported by the Accra weather station. In January 2021 the record temperature of 39.5 °C was reported here. The hottest summer from July to September, based on all 21 weather stations in Ghana below 640 metres altitude, was recorded in 2019 with an average temperature of 25.9 °C. This average temperature will normally be measured every 4 to 6 hours, thus also including the nights. Normally, this value is 25.2 degrees Celsius. The average maximum daily temperature at that time was 29.4 °C.
The coldest day in these 69 years was reported by the weather station Accra. Here the temperature dropped to 2.9 °C in January 2020. Accra lies at an altitude of 68 meters above sea level. The coldest winter (January to March) was in 1976 with an average temperature of 26.6 °C. In Ghana, it is usual to have about 1.4 degrees more at 28.0 °C for this three-month period.
The most precipitation fell in Juni 1964. With 26.7 mm per day, the Takoradi weather station recorded the highest monthly average of the last 69 years.
