45,866 asylum applications by refugees were received in 2021 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo — according to UNHCR. Most of them came from Central Africa, South Sudan and from Burundi. A total of 44,568 decisions have been made on initial applications. Around 100% of them were answered positively. 0 percent of asylum applications have been rejected in the first instance.
